Many pianists feel Beethoven's own cadenza for this concerto is inappropriate. He composed it many years after the concerto itself. It is filled with his late style - low trills, contrapuntal development, etc., more suited to the late sonatas than to this early work.

This new cadenza attempts to preserve the style of the concerto itself.
